How to apply meringue to lemon meringue pie?

Hi,

I just made a lemon meringue pie using My-T-Fine pie filling. I beat the egg whites, sugar and cream of tartar according to directions. However, my meringue didn't have those beautiful stiff peaks like I've seen my grandmother do and on professional pies. I think my grandmother used to dollop scoops of meringue all over the pie and then connect them and did something to get the curls. Does anyone have any tips about my application or mixing? How to apply meringue to lemon meringue pie?
Keep beating that mixture until stiff peaks form. Spread it all over the filling. Take an ordinary butter knife and dab it up and down all over the meringue to make peaks. Bake in the oven for 10 min. at 450 but watch it closely. It really should be put on a hot filling so get busy! How to apply meringue to lemon meringue pie?
You need to use a squeaky CLEAN and DRY mixing bowl and beaters to beat the egg whites. If they have a drop of oil or water on them, the egg whites won't beat well. Also, if it's raining or very humid there, the humidity plays havoc with meringue. The sugar won't incorporate well, will weep and be gritty. Then, just pile the meringue on the pie, and use a butter knife or pastry spatula to swirl it around the top.........
You need to beat the meringue mixture until it is stiff.

I just pour the mixture onto the top and use a spatula to smooth it out and add the peaks.
place a dry spatula on a portion of the meringue with slight pressure and pull up on the spatula. to make the curls, twist your wrist. that should do the trick. good luck!!!!!!!
If you don't have the stiff peaks then you either didn't beat the eggs enough, or you over beat them. You need the stiff peaks.

How do you apply for ISO 9001 certification? Why is it so hard to find out how to apply for this?

Do you have to go to a consultant? What is a certification body, and where do you find one?How do you apply for ISO 9001 certification? Why is it so hard to find out how to apply for this?
Yes, you think they would it make it easier to apply.

You do not need a consultant but most companys do use one.

To become ISO 9001:2000 registered, your organization will need to implement a Quality Management System that complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000, run that system and collect records, then have a 3rd party auditor, called a Registrar come and audit your system.

How to apply a scholarship in Australia?

I have graduated from high school with an average of 89.

I want to apply a scholarship in Australia for business and management course. How do I apply for a scholarship?

ThanksHow to apply a scholarship in Australia?
Yeah I agree, I would suggest you to ask other people in the same boat as you are. Study Abroad is something everybody has different opinion. Hence its better to ask as many people and experts you can.

maybe you can discuss or find the answer at

http://www.genietalks.com

Its a good forum for study abroad and people are really good with good advices. They also got many educational experts for free advices

Let me know if you need any other help. How to apply a scholarship in Australia?
Australian university DO NOT give out scholarships for undergraduate degrees. Australia students are given government money to pay expenses and they can defer their fees so there is no reason for scholarships to be in place for undergraduate education./

Scholarships are ONLY available for PhD students.

Edit: International students have to pay full international fees (more than Australian students)

Most students share an apartment as flats near the University of Sydney cost around $300 per week for a one bedroom, $450-600 for a 2/3 bedroom. The University is within 4km of the City centre so its one of the most expensive places to rent.
let me try

My best suggestion would be ask multiple people by asking it on online forums. Everybody has a different opinion and more you ask more ideas you get.

May be try Genie Talks Study Abroad forum. Experts and members over there are pretty helpful. I think the website is

How to apply confidence intervals to probability?

Hello. So the question is there are 200 people who are all making 95% confidence intervals (using the same data and etc) and determining if X falls within that confidence interval.

1) How many people are expected to find that X falls within their interval.

Is it 200*0.95 = 190?

2) What is the probability that all 200 students get X in their interval?

I was thinking that it is 0.95^200 but that can't be right.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. How to apply confidence intervals to probability?
1) If you are to run a large number of confidence intervals, each based on a separate estimate for the mean (with confidence level (1 - alpha)), then yes, the expected number of confidence intervals containing the true mean would be n * (1 - alpha), or 200 * 0.95 like you said.

In general, this means that any future confidence interval (the sample has not yet been measured or tabulated) has a 95% chance of containing the true mean. It DOES NOT mean that an interval that has already been run has a 95% chance. Probability only applies to events which haven't happened yet.

2) How to find the probability that all 200 students will get the true mean in their interval is a binomial distribution question. Sample size is n, probability of success, p, is 0.95. So, the probability of 200 independent successes would be (0.95) ^ (200), or 0.00003505, or 0.003505%. Even the most likely outcome, exactly 190 successes and 10 failures, has the relatively small probability of .1284, or 12.84%.

With 201 possible outcomes, no one of them will have a very large possibility. 190-10 is just the EXPECTED outcome.

How to apply full lace wig leaving natural hair out to the front?
Hi,

It's really not too difficult to do. See the tips below:

1. You'd have to ensure you cut the lace on your unit right-on or exactly to the hair line on the unit. This means you may loose a few actual baby hair in the unit but that's okay because your hair line (and your own baby hairs) will be visible to provide that more natural look.

2. You'd have to determine how much of you own hair you want showing from your hair line and either brush it forward or use gel to keep glue from going on it. You don't need to pull too much hair out.

3. Of coarse, make sure you've followed all the proper traditional steps for applying a lace wig too (cleaning your hair line area with 99% Alcohol, braiding and/or wrapping your hair as flat as possible, etc.)

4. You'd apply the glue as normal, but it would not go on you baby hairs/hairline area that you'd like to leave out. Also, the glue will have to go on your actual hair.

5. If you're using Invisi-Bond, make sure you put on 2-3 thin coats. YOU MUST MAKE SURE THE GLUE DRIES COMPLETELY FOR EACH COAT. Invisi-Bond won't work unless the glue is dried and tacky to the touch before applying the lace.

6. Once glue is dry, press your lace it so it's good and adhered to the glue. The blend your baby hairs with that of the lace wig unit.

That's pretty much it. I hope this helps. Keep in mind that practice makes perfect. For more lace wig tips and tips and trick, you can check out the Love May Lace Wigs Blog %26amp; Knowledge Base: http://lovemylacewigs.wordpress.com/

  • How to apply very thin eyeliner on the lower lashline?

I hate the extremely obvious, thick eyeliner on the bottom lashes, but I don't want to line my waterline. So, any tips for getting the thinnest eyeliner line possible on the lower lashes using a pencil eyeliner? How to apply very thin eyeliner on the lower lashline?
i apply my eyeliner on thick, really get it all on there. Get it on the little skin part where your eyes touch, and where your eyelash hairs are, cover it all. Then use makeup remover wipes, or baby wipes and wipe it away. Make it have a clean look to it. I hope this makes sense. When I say wipe it away, I mean wipe under the eye so you have a very clean line of eyeliner. Hope this helps. You can control how thick you want the line by how much you wipe away :)How to apply very thin eyeliner on the lower lashline?
Yes. Here's the tip: don't use eyeliner.

Take a brush, a THIN brush, and use eyeshadow. Not TOO much eyeshadow, but enough to have a black line on your lower lashline.

This way, you'll have thin and clean looking eyeliner. You can even switch up the colors.
    i agree w. that girl

but also if yu really wanna

    use liner

    u should use fluidline

How to apply for grants for a small business?

I am thinking of starting something small, perhaps on ebay first but I know that I would qualify for some grants, being a minority but I just don't know where to go to get started. Any ideas? How to apply for grants for a small business?
It is hard to find grants to start a business. Unlike the myths that some perpetuate, federal government and even private foundations hardly give grant money for starting a for-profit business.

One possible exception is for companies developing or exporting agricultural goods, including food and forest product. Another exception could be the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs http://www.sba.gov/aboutsba/sbaprograms/鈥?/a> , which fund the research and development of technological innovation that meets specific government needs.

Your best bet actually will be from the states if they offer grant programs for women (or any other special interest groups -- minorities, women, disabled, veterans, etc). Or check with non profit organizations, particularly women organizations if they offer grants. Examples include

    Iowa Women's Foundation http://www.iawf.org/

    New Mexico Women's Foundation http://www.nmwf.org/guidelines.html

Even SBA does NOT give out grants. From the SBA website http://www.sba.gov/mostrequesteditems/CO鈥?/a>

    ';The U.S. Small Business Administration does not offer grants to start or expand small businesses, although it does offer a wide variety of loan programs. (See http://www.sba.gov/financing for more information) While SBA does offer some grant programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organizations that provide small business management, technical, or financial assistance. These grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments.';

Nonetheless, you can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov - these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit venture.

Here is a listing of federal grants for small businesses. See if there is any available for individuals for starting a business -- THERE'S NONE.

    http://12.46.245.173/pls/portal30/CATALO鈥?/a>

Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT - Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program

Grants are also often given to non profit groups or organizations involved in training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women's Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women's business center that will train women entrepreneurs

How to apply for grants for a small business?
Your best bet would be a trip to your public library. They have tons of books that spell out the different grants that you can apply for including ones that the government offers.

Being that you are a woman, you are most likely to benefit from a majority of them.

They would be shelved under 'business'-

    GOOD LUCK!
