I just made a lemon meringue pie using My-T-Fine pie filling. I beat the egg whites, sugar and cream of tartar according to directions. However, my meringue didn't have those beautiful stiff peaks like I've seen my grandmother do and on professional pies. I think my grandmother used to dollop scoops of meringue all over the pie and then connect them and did something to get the curls. Keep beating that mixture until stiff peaks form. Spread it all over the filling. Take an ordinary butter knife and dab it up and down all over the meringue to make peaks. You need to use a squeaky CLEAN and DRY mixing bowl and beaters to beat the egg whites. If they have a drop of oil or water on them, the egg whites won't beat well. Also, if it's raining or very humid there, the humidity plays havoc with meringue. The sugar won't incorporate well, will weep and be gritty. Then, just pile the meringue on the pie, and use a butter knife or pastry spatula to swirl it around the top.........
You need to beat the meringue mixture until it is stiff.
I just pour the mixture onto the top and use a spatula to smooth it out and add the peaks.
place a dry spatula on a portion of the meringue with slight pressure and pull up on the spatula. to make the curls, twist your wrist. that should do the trick. good luck!!!!!!!
If you don't have the stiff peaks then you either didn't beat the eggs enough, or you over beat them. You need the stiff peaks.

Hello. So the question is there are 200 people who are all making 95% confidence intervals (using the same data and etc) and determining if X falls within that confidence interval.
1) How many people are expected to find that X falls within their interval.
Is it 200*0.95 = 190?
2) What is the probability that all 200 students get X in their interval?
I was thinking that it is 0.95^200 but that can't be right.

It's really not too difficult to do. See the tips below:
1. You'd have to ensure you cut the lace on your unit right-on or exactly to the hair line on the unit. This means you may loose a few actual baby hair in the unit but that's okay because your hair line (and your own baby hairs) will be visible to provide that more natural look.
2. You'd have to determine how much of you own hair you want showing from your hair line and either brush it forward or use gel to keep glue from going on it. You don't need to pull too much hair out.
3. Of coarse, make sure you've followed all the proper traditional steps for applying a lace wig too (cleaning your hair line area with 99% Alcohol, braiding and/or wrapping your hair as flat as possible, etc.)
4. You'd apply the glue as normal, but it would not go on you baby hairs/hairline area that you'd like to leave out. Also, the glue will have to go on your actual hair.
5. If you're using Invisi-Bond, make sure you put on 2-3 thin coats. YOU MUST MAKE SURE THE GLUE DRIES COMPLETELY FOR EACH COAT. Invisi-Bond won't work unless the glue is dried and tacky to the touch before applying the lace.
6. Once glue is dry, press your lace it so it's good and adhered to the glue. The blend your baby hairs with that of the lace wig unit.

Actually, you chose the right sunscreen! Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF 30 and SPF 45 aren't that great. They only protect against UVB rays (causes burning) and not UVA rays (causes tanning and alters skin's DNA -%26gt; premature wrinkles, damaged collagen and elastin, etc.).
Reason --%26gt; SPF 55 has Helioplex (so does SPF 70). SPF 30 and 45 do not. Helioplex stabilizes the ingredient Avobenzone, which protects againts UVA. Thus, Neutrogena's SPF 55 and 70 offer true Broad-Spectrum Protection (UVA and UVB).
Anyway, it's recommended that for the face only, a teaspoon of sunscreen/sunblock should be used. Half a teaspoon for the neck area. It's also recommended that you apply sunscreen/sunblock, let absorb and dry for 20-30 minutes and apply a little more again all over the areas you previously applied sunscreen/sunblock to. This ensures effectiveness. The amount of sunscreen/sunblock for your second application depends entirely on you. You don't need another teaspoon of it on your face (you could if you want but you could do less). Reapply every two-three hours.

I don't think it really matters that the SPF is 55. SPF (Sun Protection Factor) only measures protection against burning (UVB rays). UVA rays causes premature aging and in my opinion, UVA can be equally, if not more damaging to the skin...
esp. when you're using sun-sensitizing products (such as the GA cream you use). I think that with Neutrogena's SPF 55, what's really important is that it protects against both UVA and UVB. The number doesn't matter.
If anything, you could try searching for L'Oreal's La Roche Posay SPF 15 moisturizer. It contains Mexoryl (a really good UVA filter). Low SPF and great protection! (and it's a moisturizer to add). ...
But this product is fairly new so you may have trouble finding it (oh, and drawback is it's kind of expensive -%26gt;$30 and up). I live in California and it's only available at CVS pharmacies. ...
If you want lower SPF, you could also check out Aveeno's new line of SPF products. They offer some good, stable products too. Anyway, hopefully everything works out for you! :)

I am a Junior in High School and am looking for a Volunteer job.
The purpose is to earn volunteer hours to put on my College application. Why? Because it is easier to get into the college of my choice that way.
I am either looking for a volunteer job at a park or hospital.
I am confused on how the process works
Do I pick up a volunteer job application from my school first or what?

I volunteer in the NICU of a hospital. I totally forget the name of the department you contact, but I picked up the volunteer package and completed it (hospitals do criminal background checks now), I also had to have a drug screen, and a screen for different diseases. I had to be screened for diseases because of the unit of the hospital I was working in plus, I would be holding and feeding the babies. Once I was cleared, I purchased a volunteer uniform, and had my picture taken for a badge. In my hospital, you have to work a minimum hours a week to stay active.

I volunteer in the NICU of a hospital. I totally forget the name of the department you contact, but I picked up the volunteer package and completed it (hospitals do criminal background checks now), I also had to have a drug screen, and a screen for different diseases. I had to be screened for diseases because of the unit of the hospital I was working in plus, I would be holding and feeding the babies. Once I was cleared, I purchased a volunteer uniform, and had my picture taken for a badge. In my hospital, you have to work a minimum hours a week to stay active.

How do I keep Photoshop from applying previous setting to new layers?
I am working on a project, and every time I create a new layer, it applies the styles from a previous layer in a group to the new layer. This is very frustrating. I need it to allow me to use completely fresh layers. It also seems like some of the layers are linked, because when I change one, the other layer changes also! I don't see why it would paste the layer style for every layer. Check and see if you made it a setting that every time you hit ctrl-shift-n or added a new layer that it automatically pastes the style.

The problem is I do not know my professors well, and would feel bad asking one or two to write multiple letters since I want to apply to more than 1 school. What is the proper etiquette here?Applying for Master Programs. How to get references?

Another way is to after you put your liner on place a same color shadow on top to seal it in you can also do this to your waterline if you are comfortable with doing this. Its not always safe but it can definitely add to the life of your liner.
You can also buy a eyeliner sealer like She- Laq which is made by benefit cosmetics and can seal many things like lip color liner and mascara.
Get the waterproof. But you'll need a special remover to get it off.
Use a primer. Urban Decay makes a good one, but there are others out there as well. I use CoverGirls retractable with a primer and never have many issues anymore. (And I wear it heavy.)

some people at my school are applying to around 15-20 colleges! i think that's insane. i think 5-6 plus a backup is enough. what do you think?

How much coconut oil should I apply to hair?
Yesterday, I applied lots and lots of coconut oil maybe a handful and a half... because my hair is long and I didn't warm it up,,,, so it was all thick and sticky... I left it overnight...

These home ';cures'; to repair dry, damaged hair rarely work. Instead of going through all this work your should have bought yourself a good deep conditioner from you local professional salon.
As to removing all the crap off of your hair.....buy yourself a clarifing shampoo and a good conditioner.

along time since ive done it but i think it was 3-5, well 3 to 5 applications you could apply for '5' different courses at the same uni if you wanted to.

My kitten has Upper Respitory Infection. Given antibiotics from the vet along with some oozing eye ointment. I'm a little confused as to the rhythm and where to apply the ointment. You apply it directly to the eyeball. Hold the cat like a lady's purse under your arm with it's head close to your hand. Use that hand to pry open the eyelid. Use the other to squeeze in the meds, and pray you don't get YOUR eye scratched out.
They should have given you a ';big-ish'; tube. Squirt some in and hope for the best. Seriously. The cat will be trying to kill you. Just get some in there and call it good.
TIPS:
Hold the cat's head like a baseball.
Use your index and middle fingers to open the eye.
It's fine if you can only get the top lid up. Squirt it in and let go quick before you lose skin.
ETA:
~Yes - wipe the ooze with a warm, wet washcloth.
~Steam helps with congestion, sneezing and cold symptoms. Run your shower the hottest it will go and let her hang out in the bathroom. No need to get her wet. Hold the eyelids together for a few moments so it can coat the eye then release your cat,how often should be on the label instructions.

Hold your kitty or have someone else do it and with a very steady hand..pull down the lower eye lid and squeeze a drop of the ointment there...when the cat blinks it will automatically go into the eye where it belongs...it's a little tricky but you will get the hang of it...just be careful not to poke the cat in the eye with the tube...if you squeeze it out enough it can kind of ';drop'; into the lower lid.
Also if your cats eyes are running now don't be nervous if they still look ';squinty'; as long as you are using the ointment they will look like that.

Put the kitten on the table, have the dab on the end of your finger in the right hand, hold the kitten's head with your left hand (talk to them, it distracts them) and gently spread open the eyelid with your right hand thumb and second finger, then dab the gel on the eyeball. A VERY light touch on their upper eyelid once they close their eye will help a tad to get it spread, but usually the cat handles it fine.
Phone your vet tomorrow and ask for an update on the instructions.
My cat garfield had the same thing when he was a kitten, my sister held him and i put the ointment in his eye I put it kind of in the corner of his eye and took his eyelids and made him blink, he put up a fight but his eyes are as clear as they can be now his right eye was the only one that was infected. He has a very small blind spot on it but it's seeming to go away as he gets older... he's six years old now but he was about four or five months when he was sick. also garfield squeaks instead of meow's...

How to apply for a restraining order?
I've done a little checking around, and it turns out that I can apply for a restraining order against a guy that has sent me numerous hate messages (Exposing %26amp; Harassing me for a genetic condition), and repeatedly got in contact in order to upset me. (I have taken numerous steps against this, but he always finds ways.)
I know I'm applicable now, so I don't need advice on that. What I want to know is what are the ways I can apply for a restraining order?
Preferably I would like to do this online, next on the phone, otherwise I wouldn't mind going to a police station. (I'll do this either way, I'm serious about making it happen.) Also, do I have to go to court? Would I need a lawyer?

One applied for a restraining in court with all documentations of abuse..harassment..etc..make police reports, and file charges if you want..police would help you with that..

Concealer- If you have a wand, take the wand out of the tube and wipe most of it off on the side of the tube like mascara. Put a small dot where you need it, and then use your finger to blend the concealer into your skin. Get a concealer that matches your skin tone very well, because if it is too dark, you will be able to notice. If you do not have a wand, put a generous amount of concealer onto your fingertip and gently rub it into your imperfection. Concealer can be used on pimples, zits, blotches, patches of black heads, scars, or any other mark on your skin you'd prefer not be noticed.
Eyeshadow- If you have packed eyeshadow, get a clean eyeshadow brush and swipe it across the packed powder a few times, and then tap the brush over the container to shake off excess eyeshadow. Next, gently swipe the shadow on your lid evenly. It's up to you if you want to use it on your crease or brow bone next. For skin-tone colors, all over your eye lid (up to the brow) is fine. If you have loose powder, shake your container back and forth gently to let excess powder fall back into the container. If you are using lipgloss from a palette, use your finger instead, and apply it more generously. Pucker your lips a few times, then kiss a piece of toliet paper to remove excess gloss. This next part is optional, but is recommened to keep you gloss on for longer. Give the gloss 2 minutes to dry, then find a clear top coat and apply that like you did the gloss. Top coats keep the gloss on for longer and make it more shiny. Don't forget to kiss the toliet paper afterwards!

We just got passports at the post office, and they take checks and cash, but no debit cards or credit cards. I wrote a $37 check to Postmaster and a $60 the Department of State. If the checks bounce, I think to go to jail, FYI...
The photos at the post office are $15, but we got ours at Walgreens in 10 minutes and they were $6.99 for two. (You have to have two identical pics.)

Passports can be obtained from the court house. And the price is the same, very expensive. For my husband and I, the total was over $300. And make sure that you go at least 2 months before your trip to make sure that they come in. And first go and take your passport photo at like Wal-greens. You will need to know where you are going. The passport takes at least 6-8 weeks to come in and ours did take about that time. Enjoy your cruise, I know my husband and I sure did. Norwegian is a great cruiseline.

i'm not sure if this is the case everywhere but usually the main post office in a city accepts passport applications. many of them will also take your passport photos for you, for a small fee. the passport website should allow you to search for places in your area that will take your passport applications.
We just got passports at the post office, and they take checks and cash, but no debit cards or credit cards. I wrote a $37 check to Postmaster and a $60 the Department of State. If the checks bounce, I think to go to jail, FYI...
The photos at the post office are $15, but we got ours at Walgreens in 10 minutes and they were $6.99 for two. (You have to have two identical pics.)

After that the candidates have to log in XAT website and choose the ‘Paid at Axis Bank mode of payment’ to fill the online form. Then the candidates have to download the PP form and mail it to XAT Office. Candidates can also obtain the XAT bulletin from XLRI by making a demand draft and first registering through XAT website by choosing Demand Draft option. After mailing the printed form to XAT office the candidates will receive the XAT bulletin from XAT office. Candidates also have to choose the institutes where they want to apply for through XAT.
Date of Entrance Examination: 1st week of January, 2010
Date of availability of XAT bulletin and online registeration: 1st week of September-End November, 2009
Last date for receipt of XAT PP form: First week of December, 2009
