How long does it take section 8 to kick threw when you apply?

about 5 years on average. Some areas only 2 though. How long does it take section 8 to kick threw when you apply?
I am assuming that you signed up for the waiting list.

When you applied they should have given you an estimate on how long their waiting list is. When your number is up you have to attend a meeting, then an interview, all before it begins.

In my area, it takes 3-5 months after your number is up to kick in, then again the waiting listed closed in 2006 and will not open until 2010.How long does it take section 8 to kick threw when you apply?
It depends on in which area/city you are located. Nearly ALL areas have some length of waiting list involved before Sec 8 is available. It is not immediate. Some areas have funds available in a few months, and others have waiting lists SO long that they are not even taking applicants.
As a property manager I welcome section 8 tenants. It shouldn't take more than a week for a response.

It depends on the area you are in. The less problem areas are fast, It depends on the time it takes to do the background check
